In November of 2017, Irving Middle and West Springfield High School began participating in the Red Bag Program, whereby people in our neighborhood donate snack items that are sent home with students in need each weekend.  Recently, on January 6, 2018, we coordinated our first drive where over 2,200 pounds of food was collected from neighbors in our community.  We were blown away by the generosity of those who gave food!  A special thanks to the drivers who picked up the food from each house, the volunteers who sorted the food when it was delivered, and to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley who donated donuts from Dunkin' Donuts to keep everyone energized.
