Mr. Spero Recognized as FCPS 2020 Region 4 Outstanding Outstanding School-based Operational Employee!
Congratulations to safety and security specialist Steve Spero who was recognized as the FCPS 2020 Region 4 Outstanding School-based Operational Employee and one of six finalists for the 2020 Outstanding School-based Operational Employee award!
Since starting at Irving Middle School, Steve has shown a sincere commitment to his role as Safety and Security Officer. Steve is one of the first ones to arrive each day and goes out of his way to greet the students and staff with a friendly smile. Mr. Spero has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to Fairfax County Public Schools from his previous career, where he focused on the safety, security and well-being of juveniles, and their families within Fairfax County. Steve attended Irving Middle School and is a graduate of West Springfield High School. So, in addition to being able to continue his work with young adults, he is able to do so at one of his alma maters.
